Farm v Nature

The raspberry on the left is from a farm in the Hudson Valley, NY and the one on the right is a wild raspberry from a vine on my property. The farm-raised fruit is sweet and a tad mushy while the wild one is more tart but firm. The wild one also presents a stronger raspberry flavor. Wild raspberries are also a third of the size. I am competing with cardinals and bluejays in my two raspberry patches, but then again, both patches are the result of the birds passing the seeds through their digestive systems. The wild raspberry plants are hardy in the face of climate change, but their season is a week to ten days only.
